Briquette

The production of the direct regeneration unit of the factory is consumed as an intermediate product in the iron and steel making unit of Arfa. This unit has the capacity to produce 60 thousand tons of sponge iron briquettes per year.

The soft sponge iron that is separated in the process of transfer from the direct reduction unit to the steelmaking unit (smelting) in the product lines is compressed with a small amount of lime and silicate glue in the briquetting machine and turned into briquettes. Briquette is used in electric arc furnace due to its high metallization and suitable weight.

One of the important goals of briquette production is to pay attention to the environment. In this regard, the soft sponge iron, which is one of the side wastes of the production and transfer process of sponge iron, is converted into briquettes, and after melting, this product turns into steel ingots.
